Covent Garden, in London’s West End, is particularly attractive to both visitors and locals who flock here to enjoy its fantastic theatre and shopping opportunities, bars, restaurants and culture.   • The busy market at Covent Garden has existed since 1656.
  • The “Covent” in Covent Garden is in fact a misspelling of the word ‘convent’. The area was the original location of the market garden for the Convent of St Peters at Westminster Abbey.
