Wembley in north-west London sits in zone 4 of the capital’s transport network. Despite the fact that it’s ten miles north of London’s city centre, the area’s outstanding transport links make it feel much more central than it actually is.

Wembley is perhaps most well-known for its arena and stadium with the vast number of concerts and sporting events taking place between them.   • Wembley Stadium was built as part of the 1924 British Empire Exhibition and was used to host both the 1966 historic World Cup Final and the 1948 Olympics.

  • Wembley is a derivative of the Old English name “Wemba” together with the Old English “lea” meaning clearing or meadow.

  • Three stations connect Wembley to the rest of London: Wembley Central on the Bakerloo and Overground lines, Wembley Park on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines, and Wembley Stadium which offers services into Marylebone.
  • Found just across from Wembley Stadium, the Designer Outlet Village is perfect for shoppers keen to snap up a bargain. There are in fact more than 80 stores and restaurants to choose from, with clothing, footwear and homeware outlets in no short supply.
  • There are several beautiful parks perfect for walking and relaxation, including King Edward VII Park, Preston Park and Fryent Country Park.

Primary schools include Chalkhill Primary School, Elsley Primary School, Park Lane Primary School and Preston Park Primary School.
