About Chelsea

Highly affluent and extremely desirable, Chelsea boasts a prime central London location. It borders South Kensington and Knightsbridge the north and Fulham to the west, plus the Thames River to its south and Belgravia to the east. During the 1970s, Chelsea was at the heart of ‘swinging London’ and has always been the top place to be for London’s wealthiest and richest individuals.

One of the area’s most favourable selling points is its outstanding range of shopping opportunities. Kings Road, Sloane Street, Sloane Square and Fulham Road are just a few of the main hotspots with both specialist and independent retailers aplenty.   • Chelsea Football Club has its home at Stamford Bridge stadium, found on the west side of Chelsea close to Fulham Broadway.
  • The area is well loved for its Chelsea buns (delicious sweet dough buns with sugar and raisins) as well as Chelsea China which is considered the first porcelain in England to be made in a factory.
  • Chelsea is the home of the infamous Chelsea Pensioners, with the Royal Hospital being founded by Charles II in 1682.

Education

Chelsea Academy is the main state secondary school, with state primary schools including Ashburnham Community Primary School and Christ Church C of E Primary School.

These include Garden House School, consisting of two pre-prep schools and a Kindergarten, plus Knightsbridge School, Sussex House School and Hill House International Junior School.
